Anniversary Extravaganza

So my last post ended with us at The Mayo Penthouse Bar...

...and I mentioned that as a special anniversary treat AB and I stayed at The Mayo Hotel. What a neat place! The Mayo has been around forever and has been totally renovated in recent years. Here is a picture of our room. I liked that it was modern but warm and I fell in love with the sheets! The bed was like sleeping on a cloud, it was amazing! The sheets are Tencel fiber which is made from the wood pulp of Eucalyptus trees as explained here. We know what I'll be using my next 20% off coupon for!

Saturday I had a fun day of togetherness planned but one of us (as in not me) was a little under the weather (as in too many cocktails on the rooftop) so the day was sort of wasted away laying around the house. Before you feel too bad for me, AB saved himself by rallying the next evening and taking me to Mahogany for an anniversary dinner. Mahogany is probably my favorite restaurant in Tulsa, everything there just melts in your mouth! AB is lucky enough to get to go there for business dinners but I am limited to special occasions which is fine because it makes it that much more of a treat when I get to go :) Here we are before our big date:

It was such a wonderful dinner, I can still taste it! So I can't mention our anniversary and leave out the gifts. I've never been good at keeping up with the traditional anniversary gifts; paper, wood, etc. but this year unbeknownst to ourselves, we nailed it! The traditional anniversary gift for the 4th anniversary is silk/linen and the modern gift is electrical appliances. We went the modern route. I got Andy the Krups Beer Tender. It's a cooling system that keeps a 5-liter mini keg chilled so you can poor a perfectly chilled draught from the comfort of your own home. Currently the only mini-kegs that operate with it are Heineken and New Castle, I don't think they're AB's favorites but he likes them. I'm hoping more companies will jump on board with this. In case you were wondering 5-liters is about 14 beers and it's probably not any cheaper but it sure is cool having beer on tap at your house!

I've already posted that AB sent me these gorgeous flowers - loved them! I just can't get over how pretty they were.

He also got me the Cuisinart Keurig Brewing System. It's a single-cup brewing system and I absolutely love it! I was using a Cuisinart Grind & Brew which I also loved (and I'm going to keep) but I'm the only one drinking coffee so it was kind of a pain to make each day for just one person. With this system you just pop in a K-Cup and it brews either a 6, 8 or 10 ounce cup of coffee depending on your preference. There are so many varieties of K-Cups, many flavors of coffee, tea, hot chocolate and cider! It's awesome!

We had such a great weekend together and I look forward to many more anniversaries :)
